Coastal Resources

The HRPDC’s Coastal Resources Management Program works with local governments, state and federal agencies, and non-governmental organizations to inform and coordinate decisions on policies and projects affecting coastal resources in Hampton Roads.

Drinking Water and Wastewater

The HRPDC Directors of Utilities Committee coordinates regional drinking water initiatives for Hampton Roads municipal water utilities.

Economics

HRPDC Economics staff provides detailed information, analysis, and forecasting relevant to the Hampton Roads economy.

Emergency Management

The HRPDC Emergency Management (EM) Department serves as a resource to foster and support local and regional strategies that will complement existing emergency management programs in cities and counties throughout Hampton Roads.

Environmental Education

The Environmental Education Department helps teach the community about conservation efforts.

Equity

Your ideas and views are valuable to the HRPDC as it develops plans and allocates funds for improving the region. The HRPDC encourages public participation and solicits input in all areas of planning.

The HRPDC collaborates with local government agencies and non-profit organizations to coordinate local initiatives on housing and human services issues in an effort to develop effective and efficient solutions to our region's housing and human service needs.

Regional Planning Program

HRPDC's Regional Planning division provides a forum for the local governments to exchange information and to develop cooperative initiatives that address regional environmental and planning issues and opportunities, as well as state and federal regulations.

Resiliency and Flooding

The HRPDC Coastal Resiliency Program activities address regional challenges related to flooding and sea level rise.
