Housing & Human Services
About
The HRPDC collaborates with local government agencies and non-profit organizations to coordinate local initiatives on housing and human services issues in an effort to develop effective and efficient solutions to our region's housing and human service needs. HRPDC is involved in a variety of housing and human service activities aimed at improving the quality of life of the Hampton Roads region's residents such as affordable housing, services, and programs for the disabled, as well as services for seniors. Some of our projects include:
-
Hampton Roads Housing Consortium
The HRHC provides a mechanism for networking, consensus building, education, and project coordination for governmental, private, and non-profit organizations interested in affordable housing issues.
-
Hampton Roads Loan Fund Partnership
The HRPDC is a Regional Administrator for down payment and closing cost assistance (DPA) funds from the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) through the Hampton Roads Loan Fund Partnership (HRLFP).
-
Hampton Roads Disabilities Board (HRDB)
The HRPDC provides staff support to the HRDB, which currently represents the cities of Portsmouth, Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, and Suffolk, serving as a connector between the disabled community and local government, the business community, the faith-based community and the general public by raising awareness and exchanging information.
-
Homebuyers Assistance Programs
